A Ceilidh Everyone Can Enjoy

You don't need to be Scottish to enjoy a HotScotch ceilidh, you don't need to know the dances and you certainly don't need to be an experienced dancer. Our caller talks everyone through each dance before it begins and continues to call the steps during the dance itself. This makes a HotScotch ceilidh particularly suitable for modern weddings where guests may come from different countries and cultural backgrounds. Everyone can join in, and the dancing quickly becomes a shared experience rather than something that only experienced ceilidh dancers can enjoy.

Ceilidh Band and Disco in Edinburgh

If you want to combine traditional Scottish dancing with a more contemporary party, HotScotch can provide both the live ceilidh and a professional disco. We're completely flexible about the balance between the two.

You may want a substantial ceilidh followed by a late-night disco, or you might prefer to alternate between ceilidh dances and your favourite party music. We can discuss your timings and preferences beforehand and adjust the evening depending on how your guests respond on the night. Our professional disco setup includes lighting and laser effects.

You're also welcome to send us a list of your favourite songs before your wedding. We'll make sure these are included, while also taking requests from your guests during the evening.

Yes. Our experienced caller explains each dance and calls the steps throughout, making the ceilidh accessible to complete beginners as well as experienced dancers.

Yes. Send us your favourite songs before the wedding and we'll make sure they're included. We can also take requests from your guests during the evening.

That's absolutely fine. Our caller explains everything clearly and guides everyone through the dances. Ceilidh dancing is all about getting involved and having fun, not getting every step perfect.
