Dance Your Way Into 2027 at Assembly Roxy, Edinburgh

Looking for a truly Scottish way to celebrate Hogmanay in Edinburgh this year? Get ready for the XL Hogmanay Laldie Ceilidh, featuring HotScotch Ceilidh Band, at Assembly Roxy on Thursday 31st December 2026.

Crowd of people dancing in pairs at a colorful indoor party with pink and blue lights, smiling and laughing.

Described as a big ceilidh for the biggest night of the year, this promises to be a fantastic night of high-energy traditional Scottish dancing, live music and Hogmanay celebrations — taking you right through the Bells and into the early hours of 2027.

HotScotch will be providing 4½ hours of live ceilidh music and dancing, with the dancing continuing up to and after midnight, giving everyone plenty of opportunity to dance their way into the New Year.

The doors open at 8pm, with the ceilidh starting at 8:30pm and continuing until 1am.

And, of course, there will be that very special moment when everyone joins together for the Hogmanay countdown and the Bells before getting straight back onto the dance floor!

Never Danced a Ceilidh Before?

Don't worry — you don't need to be an experienced dancer to enjoy the Laldie Ceilidh.

HotScotch will provide the live music and call the dances, demonstrating and walking everyone through the steps as the evening progresses. The dances are chosen to suit the crowd, making it easy for beginners to join experienced dancers on the floor.

Whether you're a seasoned ceilidh-goer, someone who hasn't danced since school, or you're trying a Scottish ceilidh for the very first time, you'll be made very welcome.

As the organisers say, ceilidh dancing isn't about getting every step perfect — it's about having fun trying!

Come With Friends — Or Come and Meet New People

One of the best things about a ceilidh is the way it brings people together.

You can come along with a group of friends, with a partner, or even on your own. With plenty of opportunities to change partners and join different dances, a ceilidh is a brilliant way to meet people and enjoy the night together.

And with a licensed bar at Assembly Roxy, there will be plenty of opportunity to raise a glass to the New Year too.

HotScotch Ceilidh Band
