Action packed festive season and a fabulous start to the New Year

December was a busy month for the band and we played for functions in Glasgow at the Army Reserve Centre, West Brewery on Glasgow Green, Earlston High School Christmas Dance, PricewaterhouseCoopers Christmas Party at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh and then two magnificent evenings at Assembly Roxy on the 30th and 31st of December.

Edinburgh is famous for its Hogmanay Celebrations and the annual street party draws thousands of revellers into the city center to celebrate the new year. HotScotch played for the Old Town Ceilidh back in 2016.

This year we played for two consecutive nights of dancing in Assembly Roxy, a converted church with a massive dance floor area perfect for ceilidh dancing. The Hogmanay night itself was sold out well in advance so the organisers put on an additional night on the 30th which was also a sell-out.

A cohort of regular Edinburgh Ceilidh Club dancers came to both nights and it was wonderful to play to such an enthusiastic and energetic room of dancers with the floor full all night.
